More than 2,000 students and staff fell silent in a moving Remembrance Service at the academy.
Governors and Trustees joined the whole school for the two-minute silence at 11am on Armistice Day.
The Act of Remembrance took place on the school’s tennis courts. The Last Post was sounded by members of staff and students gave readings.
Principal Mr Whittle welcomed everybody to the special tribute.
"I am proud and privileged to welcome everybody to this whole school Remembrance Service," he said.
"We gather to remember and pay our respects to all those who fought and lost their lives.
"It is also an opportunity to thank, and be grateful for, those engaged in active conflicts around the world today."
It was the second occasion there had been a whole school gathering this term, following an assembly held at Grimsby Auditorium on the first day of term in September.
"We are one big school community and one big family," Mr Whittle said.
"Today presents another opportunity to show the importance of our community and that sense of belonging to a school with such a proud and distinguished history.
"This is an opportunity to look around at friends and colleagues and be reminded of that. We are, together, part of something of which we can all be very proud."
Chair of Lincolnshire Gateway Academies Trust Mr Bond and Chief Executive Officer Mr Brown attended the ceremony, alongside the academy’s governors.
Mr Bond congratulated the students and organisers.
"I found it moving to see the whole student body, staff and governors coming to remember those who gave, and continue to give, so much for us all to be here," he said.
Student Emily Robinson compered the event and fellow Years 11s Freddie Chappel, Likhona Mavongwana, Zainab Rehan, and Max Ward gave readings.
The Last Post was played by teachers Mr Schultz and Miss Stothard.
The whole school ceremony was followed by the laying of wreaths at the front of the school.
Mr Bond laid one on behalf of the governors, followed by Army cadet Evie-Rose Krogh, representing all students.
