Dear parent / carer,
We are proud to be the catering partner for Lincolnshire Gateway Academies Trust and ensure its students benefit from our deserved, nationwide reputation of never compromising on quality, portion size, choice, or value.
The challenges we’re seeing in our kitchens are the same as those you are likely experiencing at home. Ingredient prices are rocketing, and energy costs are sky high. Additionally, the Government is increasing the minimum wage in April, so we’re funding important wage rises for our teams.
We have absorbed some of these cost increases and are keeping our meal deal price at £2.70, giving students the option of best value for money.
Where possible, we have maintained the price of healthy foods and have tried to keep any of those price increases to a minimum.
However, there will be the need to increase the selling prices of some of our other items, such as our freshly made baguettes and sandwiches, along with our main meal and hot deli items. We are, however, not increasing the price of fresh fruit, some of our pasta dishes, and are also lowering the prices on our 330ml and 500ml drinks.
This price rise will take place after the Easter holiday. Amended menus and price lists will be uploaded onto the school website during the Easter holidays:
The situation is far from ideal. We would like as many students as possible to enjoy our services, and we appreciate price increases make this harder, particularly when many families are feeling the effects of the cost-of-living crisis. That said, we believe our food continues to offer excellent value for money.
As always, thank you for your support and understanding. We will continue to partner with schools, students, and parents to explore new approaches and gain input and feedback as we navigate this challenging period.
