5 December 2025

Dear Parents/Carers

As we approach the festive season, we are delighted to share the charity events taking place throughout December to support our local community and deserving charity. These opportunities give our students the chance to show kindness, generosity, and community spirit, and we are incredibly grateful for your continued support.

For this academic year, we have chosen to support Sheffield Children’s Hospital as our main charity of choice to recognise and support the life changing care they provide to young children and families.

Please find details of our charity events which you child can get involved in:

Christmas Jumper Day – Wednesday 10th December

This year, all donations will go to Sheffield Children’s Hospital, our chosen charity. Your support helps make a real difference to children and families receiving care at the hospital.

Students may wear a festive jumper with their school uniform.

Cash donations will be collected as students arrive to school. There is also an opportunity for parents to make a donation via MCAS app.

Reminder: A Christmas lunch will also be available for student’s to purchase from the canteen.

Foodbank & Animal Shelter Collections – Deadline: Friday 12th December

We are proud to be supporting the Oasis South Grimsby Hub Foodbank and the Blue Cross Grimsby Animal Hospital.

Students are encouraged to bring in donations of:

  • Food: Cereals, cooking sauces, tinned goods (e.g., baked beans), chocolate
  • Hygiene products: Toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant
  • Cleaning products: Toilet roll, washing-up liquid
  • Animal items: Animal food, blankets you no longer need

Form Shoebox Appeal – Deadline: Friday 12th December

Each form will be creating two shoe boxes to send to children in need across the world.

Suggested items include: Toys, books, toiletries, colouring materials, chocolate.

Non-Uniform Day – Friday 19th December

As a result of students’ exceptional behaviour since the start of the academic year, we will be rewarding them with a non-uniform day on the final day of term. Due to the expected weather and temperatures in December, we ask that students wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Further guidance will be provided via letter.

A £1 donation is requested, with all funds raised being donated to Sheffield Children’s Hospital. Cash donations will be collected as students arrive at school, and there is also the option for parents to make a donation via the MCAS app.

Thank you for your generosity, kindness, and ongoing support. We are incredibly proud of the compassion our students show and the difference they make to our wider community.
