A huge congratulations to Mrs Fothergill, who travelled to London this week to represent Waltham Toll Bar Academy at Parliament and collect our UK Feminista Silver Action Award.
The UK Feminista Action Award recognises schools that are taking meaningful action to challenge sexism, promote gender equality and create a culture where all young people feel safe, respected and valued. Achieving Silver status reflects a sustained, whole-school commitment to this work.
The feedback from the judging panel was incredibly positive. Waltham Toll Bar Academy was described as “leading the way”, with our leadership praised and our impact recognised as continuing to grow. Judges also highlighted our thoughtful and well-structured whole-school approach.
The award ceremony brought together leading voices in education and equality, including Helen Hayes, Matt Pinkett and Onjali Q. Raúf.
We are incredibly proud of Mrs Fothergill and everyone involved in this work. This recognition reflects the values we strive to promote every day and our commitment to ensuring that all students can thrive in an inclusive and respectful environment.
